KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS
Knee osteoarthritis is the progressive breakdown of cartilage in the knee joint, producing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. TC Regen offers four regenerative and interventional options — stem cell therapy, BMAC, PRP, and image-guided pain procedures — matched to each patient's diagnosis and disease stage by a board-certified physician.
Knee osteoarthritis is one of the most common orthopedic conditions in adults, affecting the cartilage that cushions the knee joint. As that cartilage wears down, the bone beneath it loses protection, which can produce pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced range of motion. TC Regen approaches knee osteoarthritis through regenerative medicine — a category of procedures that use biologic materials such as the patient's own cells and platelets — provided under Florida's stem cell therapy framework at its Naples and Fort Myers locations.

What Is Knee Osteoarthritis?
Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition in which the articular cartilage of the knee gradually breaks down. It is the most common form of arthritis affecting the knee and typically progresses through stages, from early cartilage thinning to advanced joint-space narrowing. Common symptoms include pain during movement, morning stiffness, swelling, and a grinding sensation in the joint. Diagnosis is confirmed through physical examination and imaging, which also establishes the disease stage — a key factor in matching the appropriate procedure.
Regenerative and Interventional Procedures for Knee Osteoarthritis
TC Regen offers four categories of regenerative and interventional procedures for knee osteoarthritis. Each is a distinct biologic or image-guided approach, and the appropriate option is determined by a board-certified physician based on the patient's diagnosis and disease stage.
The four procedure categories:
Stem cell therapy — covered under the orthopedic indications in Fla. Stat. § 458.3245, applied to cartilage and joint-related knee cases.
Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) — bone marrow concentrate used in joint-focused regenerative procedures.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) — platelet concentrate from the patient's own blood, used in joint and soft-tissue procedures.
Image-guided interventional pain procedures — delivered into the knee joint under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance.
How TC Regen's Approach Differs
Every procedure is performed by a board-certified physician.
Each case is matched to a sub-specialty rather than assigned from a fixed treatment menu.
Stem cell, BMAC, and PRP procedures use biologic material.
All procedures are provided within Florida's HB 1617 framework.
Care is available at two Southwest Florida locations, in Naples and Fort Myers.
Knee Osteoarthritis and Florida HB 1617
Florida is one of a small number of US states with a statutory pathway for non-FDA-approved stem cell therapy. Fla. Stat. § 458.3245 — established by House Bill 1617, the Stem Cell Therapy Act, effective July 1, 2025 — authorizes Florida-licensed physicians to provide stem cell therapy for orthopedic, pain management, and wound care indications, which include knee osteoarthritis. TC Regen is launching as a regenerative medicine practice operating under this framework, with each case matched to the appropriate board-certified physician.
Knee osteoarthritis presents differently in every patient, and the right procedure depends on the diagnosis and disease stage. TC Regen evaluates each case individually and matches it to the appropriate physician. To begin, submit an inquiry and a patient coordinator will contact you within one business day.
